FAQ's
What is Parent Coaching?
Parenting is hard. You are not meant to do it alone. Here is how parent coaching can help:
Identify challenges and areas of conflict within your family.
Support you to create the change you want to see in your family.
Provide strategy and tools that you can apply right away to build connection and cooperation with your child.
Who do I serve?
I support moms and/or dads with children between the ages of birth and 12 years old who are struggling with their parenting. Parents who want to parent differently than how they were raised but need support to do so. Parents who want to stop yelling, using rewards and punishments to get their child(ren) to cooperate.
What should I expect during the Discovery Call?
Once you book a time that works for you, watch your inbox for a confirmation email. You will receive a link to our online meeting (via Zoom). You will click this link when it’s time for our appointment. Ensure you have Zoom downloaded on your desktop or mobile.
Once we're both online, we’ll spend a few minutes talking about the coaching process and getting to know one another. You can ask any questions or get clarification at this time. Then, we will discuss your current challenges as well as hopes and goals for the future.
Discovery call lasts 40 minutes. At the end of the meeting, we will discuss if we are a good fit to work together and if so, book our next session for 1 week later at a time that is convenient for you. Book your call today!
How does the 10-week program work?
Most clients will have 10 weekly appointments, with each appointment lasting 1 hour.
When we work together, my main focus as your parenting coach is to provide a supportive, safe and non-judgmental space for you to be seen, heard, and understood. We will work through a 3-step process together over a 10-week period.

Does my child(ren) need to be present on the calls?
Your time and money are valuable and I would encourage you to consider having the meetings without the children. This will give you time to vent, think and process without interruption. I know it is challenging to find time without the kids around, so let's talk about scheduling a time that works best for you. I help you with your child from behind the scenes ☺

What is the difference between coaching and counselling?
Coaching is a relationship between equals. I help guide and mentor you to become the parent you want to be. I am not your doctor. Our relationship is more personal, I am able to share stories and insights from my own experience that you may find helpful. I have walked in your shoes. My role is to provide you with support, strategies, tools and encouragement as you begin to implement new strategies and techniques in your home. You are the expert on your child. We will work as a team to find the solutions that work for you and your family.
Counselling/therapy is a relationship based on overcoming obstacles due to a mental health disorder, such as anxiety or depression. The counsellor/therapist is the professional and is expected to guide you to a deeper understanding and management of your mental health concerns.
If you or a family member are in crisis, coaching is not the right solution for you. You should seek experienced medical or psychological support. If you are currently working with a counsellor/therapist, I am happy to support that relationship.
Coaching is solution-oriented. The goal is to provide practical, actionable tools to create a meaningful connection with your child(ren).
Coaching does have one thing in common with counseling/therapy: all conversations are strictly confidential.
